Eastern Partnership: teaming up to make a difference
Alone you struggle to be heard, but team up with your partners and have a real impact in tackling common challenges: this is the message from a new cartoon to promote the Eastern Partnership, the latest in a series developed by the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre.
'The Musical Contest' is a 55-second animation, under the slogan Neighbours Connect. It features solo musicians struggling to entertain their audience, who bring the house down when they decide instead to play together. The cartoon highlights the importance of cooperation in achieving common objectives – a principle at the core of the Eastern Partnership.
The first cartoon in the series, The Scarecrow, was launched last month. It featured neighbouring farmers defending their crops from hungry birds, and succeeding only after building a scarecrow together.
The Eastern Partnership is an EU initiative launched in May 2009, which aims to deepen and strengthen relations between the European Union and its six Eastern neighbours: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
